…on account of my laptop screen looking like this right now:
Sorry! As soon as I get it fixed I can get back on track with posting new Gyno-Star updates. And at least now we know, don’t throw your laptop at the floor. Lesson learned.
It might be more economical to get another computer than try repairing that one. That is typical of the monitor being shot (not literally, that would have a big hole in the middle), and replacing it for some designs is prohibitively expensive.
I once had a work laptop with a cracked screen. I could sort of use it. However, it started emitting strong solvent smelling fumes. Was time to get rid of it, fast!
David is right about that in all likelihood, it’s better to replace the computer. Especially if it is more than a few years old.
You might also see if your homeowners/renters insurance will cover it. Or a service plan, if you purchased one.
Good luck getting back up with your computer. And I do hope you had your data backed up.
Thanks – the data all seems intact and the computer is working fine. The screen is just wrecked. I ordered a new screen and apparently they’re not terribly hard to replace, so… we’ll see how it goes.
Have you considered this might be part of Sergio the Strange’s plot? You may want to screen the new screen carefully.
Looks like your 4/20 was a bit too wild.
