Basically, the idea that everyone acting in their own self interest won’t end in disaster. Many people are selfish, power imbalances exist, it’s entirely possible to hide wrongdoing enough that a free market will regulate it, and a free market is mainly a cost optimisation process, and can’t replace propper government management when it comes to spatial and societal planning.
Most Libertarians are like this person. Galvanic reactions but no life behind them. No detail, no examples etc. Hard to pin them down otherwise with just their fiction.
While I think libertarianism is wrong, and I agree that asking out women that way is wrong… I simply believe your line of reasoning is too simplistic, not to mention very arrogant to boot. Saying “your views are demonstrably false” is evidence that you don’t objectively want to debate the views of others. Rather than saying “it is demonstrably false” I would suggest to simply lay arguments for why that is the case, otherwise you are engaging in superficial rhetoric that doesn’t refute in any way what you want to refute.
What about this comic leads you to believe that it’s an attempt to objectively debate views? This comic isn’t a lesson about the flaws of Libertarianism. If you want an indepth argument, there are plenty of great resources and discussion forums on the web.
Libertarian views are BETTER than any of the bullshit that the GOP or the Democrats have to offer.
Keep telling yourself that buddy. It won’t make it true, but you’ll feel better about yourself. And yes, I know this is four years old.
line 010: [searchstring] “libertarian”
line 020: if [null] then go:010
line 030: if [match] then [kneejerk]
line 040: go:010
I’m going through the archives playing catch-up, but I just wanted to say.. best comment ever. You win 20,007 internets, sir!
Would you please state which of the views are “demonstrably wrong”?

Word balloons must be massive in the comics you write, Alejandro
Much truth in this one, though I would have applied it broadly to all politicians.
