Gyno-Star gonna Gyno-Star.

As an ace, this certainly rings true to conversations I’ve been in. Or rather, lectures I’ve had thrown at me by real-life The Bases. Sometimes it seems like a contest to see what I lose first: my patience or my faith in the human r-ace (the latter regained only through a great deal of introspectrum or hosting a particularly fun storytime over at the library).
Gyno-Star, can I talk to you for a moment? Mysterious internet commenter to a fictional character who can neither see my post nor answer back: not everyone has to have alter-ego names based on some part of their socio-political or gender identities, or off of any other part of how they define themselves! That actually could be hazardous to keeping your secret identity a secret, come to think of it. Sure, it’s a pretty popular naming convention in your fictional universe, but everyone’s different. The fact of the matter is that wventually you’ll pretty much have to run into someone who comes up with a cape name and acesthetic stemming from something else, even if it’s just while waiting in line at the grocery store to pay for fresh organic a-romaine-tic lettuce and some nice looseleaf asexualitea.
…Right?
(Honestly, at this rate she might want to start looking for an ace attorney, she might end up needing one!)
Anyways, go Annie!
Gynostar is trying to help…after all, Annie needs a cool moniker.
Seriously, Ace Adventurer?
Sounds fantastic, comes with a fine double meaning backed right in.
Annie might get mistaken for a pilot, hiya Tracer, but nothing about Ace isn’t complimentary.
Now for example “Asian Ace” would be entirely too on the nose; kinda like “Little Sappho.” 😉
Well. Not necessarily. Some Marvel superheros don’t have one and are just fine. Look at Emma Frost. :3
Her name IS the cool moniker :-p
I guess. XD It kinda is. Heh.
I’m reminded that when she was introduced, she did have an alias (as a member of the royalty of the Hellfire Club) (and does again, now…)
Hum… I’m sure you know this but, just because someone is ace it doesn’t mean they can’t be straight/gay/lesbian/bi/pan/etc, it just means that they don’t want to fuck whoever they’re attract to.
As a demi-ace myself, this misunderstanding is something which get alot on my nerves… So unless Annie is also an arom… Wait… Waaaaiiiit… AA… Aro/Ace…. *facepalm*
As a heteroromantic ace, I highly appreciate the representation! We’re often overlooked. Was a very pleasant surprise 🙂
I second (or third?) that Ace Adventurer sounds fantastic 😀
No,Gynostar. She doesn’t need one if she doesn’t want one.
Also I bet the Base’d be really messed up if he met someone who’s Bi or Pan. Too bad there’s none of them to help Angie.
Dynamo is there, and we don’t know his orientation, as it hasn’t come up yet.
True. It’d be cool if he came out as either. We really don’t have enough positive representation for either.
Is that thing shrinking? It looks like it’s getting smaller.
It might be that learning stuff is somehow taking it’s toll. XD
