Unfortunately, I feel like she has a point. It would be all well and good if we could get rid of corporate money and super-PACS without using corporate money and super-PACS. But they provide politicians with such an advantage that one party is never going to get a majority in House/Senate without them. And the republicans are never going to enact election reform, Super-PACS work too well for them. So, ironically, the only realistic way to get rid of them is to get enough Dems into office and put pressure on them to enact reform; and to do that they’ll have to use the same skeezy-but-effective tactics that the republicans use.
So you’re okay with a candidate who supports unnecessary war, the murder of innocent Afgani and Pakistani citizens through drone attacks, and the continued violation of our civil liberties?
I’m not okay with the majority of Gary Johnson’s positions. Voting for him is a non-starter. I will never do it, unless he changes his views quite drastically.
I love that argument. Have issues with the current system? The solution is simple! Opt out and die on the streets! 😀
Seriously, actually working to fix things in a way that can actually do so in the long run? Nonsense!!!
No, Athywren, you don’t understand. If you criticize something while still benefiting from it in any way, you’re a hypocrite. And the fact of your hypocrisy is WAY more important than whatever your criticism may have been and entirely invalidates any point you may have made. Come on it makes total sense.
“Wall Street fat cats”? That doesn’t sound body-positive… 🙁
It’s always different when it’s just a cat!
Wait….
Oh my, you’re right. No offense to full-figured felines intended!

Rebecca, if you really oppose capitalism, then quit your job, sell all your possessions, and give away all your money.
I’m 1/3 of the way there, Jim. Just give it time.
Just so I know you’re not a hypocrite. ;P
BTW: when are you going to acknowledge that Gary Johnson is a better choice for president than Obama or Romney?
I have strong objections to many parts of Gary Johnson’s platform. As soon as he changes most if his positions, we’ll talk.

Fine then. Just remember that if Obama or Romney wins in November, we’ll have Bush’s 4th term.
I think I’ve got a good handle on how you see things. Thanks for sharing your perspective.

Isn’t that what Jesus said to his disciples and everyone else? Sell everything and become poor. Commie Jesus.
