Ah yes…fan art…sometimes its great, sometimes its creepy, sometimes you want to take the guy who created it and burn him on top of a pile of the stuff.
And to explain, Anthony, who is a fellow alum of Goddard College, started telling people who asked him for advice about becoming writers that they shouldn’t. Except he wasn’t nearly as polite.
Good choice. I enjoyed a few of his early works, Rings of Ice and Sos the Rope, but once he decided everything he writes has to be at least a pentalogy, I gave up and added more Philip K. Dick to my diet.
Let’s hear it for all those chauvinistic fanboys who refuse to mature. Where would Stan Lee be without them? He has made his living off these sad little man-children!
So, I’m predicting a rant on our heroine’s principles, on how women shouldn’t be objectified in that way, on how everyone’s equal, and so on.
Her fanboys would then completely miss the point, and just stand there thinking about hot they find her when she’s angry.
Reminds me of that thing where one guy got upset because he felt he had a special relationship with one of the My Little Ponies and this other guy was drawing her… doing things…
Since this comic raised the subject, curiosity drove me to check; After checking in with the usual suspects (sites) and coming up with about six different ways to as Google, I actually can’t find any examples of “Rule 34” Gyno-star fanart. Apparently you ARE the exception!
Sooo… congratulations I guess? Do you see that as a moral victory, or an indication you could stand to increase your site traffic?
Wait until she sees Rob Liefeld’s work…impossible anatomy, even more impossible poses…yikes! (Seriously, my lower back aches just looking at some of his stuff!)
Sexual fanart of real people(In this case a real person inside the universe of the comic) is always creepy. No exceptions. Not even the spock/kirk painting.
Pretty sure it’s just the person on the left of the third panel, although it could be Vlad I guess. Unlikely to be the Homemaker since (at least by the stereotype of that particular type of Auntie Tam) anything sexual that goes outside the boundary of human cis male-human cis female missionary position PIV is probably heresy to her
How would the guy drawing the fanart not see the irony of doing a T&A of of the world’s premier feminist superhero? Maybe he’s trying to develop Irony Blindness as a disadvantage so he can use those points to buy an actual power.
I thought the red-gloved guy with the tentacle pic was wearing a “Superman” costume. After all, it is an event where that’s considered appropriate, isn’t it?
I feel as if I should apologize to you on behalf of all comic book artists, writers, and readers, as well as the society that produced them, for feeling obligated to draw that homonculus in panel 2. At least here, you’re drawing a contrast between the image of femininity presented in the media and the reality of the female form. Sadly, too many comics fall victim to mindless titillation.
To expect people not to draw smut of Emma Frost, Vampirella, etc would be like waiting for the spantanious transmutation of lead into gold. Is it possible? You’ll have to ask someone smarter than I (but I doubt it’ll happen any time soon). However, where I see fanboy (or fangirl) enthusiasm going awry is on those occasions I turn to google image search for nifty fanart of that show about the kids going on that grand adventure I loved growing up. And you expect moderate search to prevent encounters with what I can only describe as borderline or legitimate child pornography, but in my experience graphic sex between the boys of Gundam Wing still manages to wriggle through.
A tentacle monster in 2013? Talk about behind the times.
(Seriously, go actually look it up sometime. It was a fad. It died out sometime in the mid 90’s. Som of this stuff is only on Laserdisc, for crying out loud.)

Oh, come on. Don’t trample on people’s creative expression. 😀
I’m a writer…I’m suppose to trample on people’s creative expression…at least according to Piers Anthony. 🙂
And to explain, Anthony, who is a fellow alum of Goddard College, started telling people who asked him for advice about becoming writers that they shouldn’t. Except he wasn’t nearly as polite.
He shouldn’t have started either. What an awful writer, and I say that as someone who has had to sit through one or more of his books.
I remember liking “On a Pale Horse.” But then I read another one of his and it was… not as good. I stopped there.
Good choice. I enjoyed a few of his early works, Rings of Ice and Sos the Rope, but once he decided everything he writes has to be at least a pentalogy, I gave up and added more Philip K. Dick to my diet.

Why single out Stan, when most of the comics industry from the Silver Age to now has catered to the man-children?
And it’s not just the comics industry- it’s rampant just about everywhere. Cater to horny little boys.
Well, at least she’s wearing her entire costume in the second panel instead of being posed in a bikini.
So, I’m predicting a rant on our heroine’s principles, on how women shouldn’t be objectified in that way, on how everyone’s equal, and so on.
Her fanboys would then completely miss the point, and just stand there thinking about hot they find her when she’s angry.
I think she’s in too much shock for a rant, right at this moment.
If you put that up in your shop, it’d be a best-seller.
Hmmm… interesting idea….
Ironically, of course.
What irony? If anyone’s going to exploit Gyno-Star, it should be the person who created her! Go for it!
Tsk tsk, too many people tend to cross the line between homage and, well, whatever she was looking at in the last panel.
Tentacle porn. She’s looking at tentacle porn.
Hentai came to mind immediately. Don’t look at it myself but I know what it is.

And three, two ,one…

Wait a sec… Doesn’t Vlad wear red? If so, you just can’t keep that guy down.
His gloves were orange before, but maybe he’s changed his costume. Or maybe it’s the Happy Homemaker, and she’s changed her costume!
Sexual fanart of real people(In this case a real person inside the universe of the comic) is always creepy. No exceptions. Not even the spock/kirk painting.
Unless, like every other form of sexuality, it’s done with real consent?

Yes, for the record, I was joking.
Sorry, I was responding to http://www.gynostar.com/archives/2066#comment-15294 – that thread. Dunno how the comment ended up here
Nice “boobs & Butt” shot. Is this a shout out to the Escher Girls website? 😀
How do you not see the irony of doing T&A fanart of the world’s premier feminist superhero?
Whoops. Thought I caught this one before it went through. I thought it could use some clarification. The “you” was a little ambiguous.
How would the guy drawing the fanart not see the irony of doing a T&A of of the world’s premier feminist superhero? Maybe he’s trying to develop Irony Blindness as a disadvantage so he can use those points to buy an actual power.
Can’t really feel the offense…Although I can appreciate and be disgruntled by the irony. Huge supporter of fanart/fanfics here.
Of course, if the person dislikes the ‘homage’ then I shall not support it.
omfg that fanart is soooo hilarious! Glad to see gynostar back!

Imitation flatters sincerity – or something like that.
Ladies and gents, rule 34.

I’m sorry, no, tentacle porn is eternal.
