I wouldn’t mind the media quoting both sides if they actually bothered to fact-check the quotes.
Lack of fact checking is a big problem. Another problem is that the media picks a more or less middle-of-the-road side and an extreme side and acts like they are equivalent.
The truth always lies between two extremes. Including the extremes of extremism and moderation. And the extremes of truth and not-even-wrong.
@jy3, sorry, but “moderation” by definition is not “extreme.” The problem today is that the extremism of the Right has no boundaries and will lie, cheat and steal to achieve their goals; but the left in its moderation keeps trying to fight having tied both arms behind its own back. Bill Maher keeps screaming about this. The Democrats seriously need to get their act together and get more lawsuits flying against Republican politicians’ underhanded and illegal actions. The only hope is in the Judiciary — at least until Trump names another neanderthal to the High Court — because the Republicans in Congress ain’t gonna lift a finger to help anyone but the billionaires.
And even if the truth is between two sides, it isn’t automatically dead center of the sides, exactly equal distance from each as if truth were a simple mathematical average of viewpoints.
Yeah, as PZ Myers put it, squatting in between those on the side of reason and evidence and those worshipping superstition and myth is not a better place. It just means you’re halfway to crazy town.
Hooray for a new Gyno-Star weekly! But your deadline will remain at the end of the week unless you produce some new strips in less than seven days.

Sadly, I’ve run into folks who just want to make liberals suck it. To say it’s a disappointing attitude is an understatement.
Look dudes, we get it, you feel like you’ve lost all your social capital…buuuut if we’re being completely honest here, you lost it for a reason…
