REMINDER: Please vote for me in the Democracy for America Netroots Nation 2013 scholarship contest.
Thanks to everyone who has voted and shared on social media. I still need about 265 more votes to have a chance to win… so please help! Thanks!
Awww, don’t cry, SAHM! You’ve still got your Roombot!
Soo…. Does this count as an abortion?
Probably not considering that the “fetus” was outside its mothers wombs for long enough to learn how to talk, so this would probably be considered manslaughter.
Not that anyone gets in trouble for manslaughter in this comic… Superheros seem to be permitted to outright murder people with little to no repercussions.
Yes but only bad people.
Actually, the opposite is true. Back in the ’50s, comic-book publishers responded to a moral panic by adopting a code of self-censorship that held for about forty years. One of the rules on it was that heroes could never kill, which developed into the Technical Pacifist trope. Another is that villains could never get away with anything, ever.
More like involuntary homicide?
That is basically what Manslaughter is… You weren’t trying to kill someone but you did. (Think drunk driver that swerved into oncoming traffic for example)
At least in this state, any of the people in this scene would only be guilty of any kind of criminal homicide if she were reckless or criminally negligent. Which raises the question: what laws apply on the Moon?
Moon law.
Well, I can’t think of any judges on the moon that would convict them, so they’re probably safe.
I really hope you get the Netroots scholarship. I really respect your interpertation of Feminism. It is both realistic, open, approachable, and feels driven by a sincere desire for equality. I feel like a some women who label themselves as “feminists” do not want equality. They come across as wanting to dominate & belittle men and come from a sexless world where people reproduce by a form of clean, emotionally sterile budding.
Well thank you. It’s nice to know I have support.
…Dark
Haha, classic.
Douglas actually says thank you after being dropped.
