Episode 287: Stealth Bombshell
This is it folks… the last guest comic by the amazing Dave Barrack!
A million thanks to Dave for this hilarious run of guest strips, and for collaborating with me on this storyline. Please give him lots of love in the comments and don’t forget to read his webcomic, Grrl Power and follow him on Twitter and Facebook.
It’s been a real treat for me to sit back and enjoy Gyno-Star as a reader. Thank you Dave!!! Your work has been awesome.
(Can’t wait to find out what happens next… I guess I better start drawing and find out!)

Is this supposed to after she leaves the bar? I this page and the previous page are reversed in the page order.
Oh my! Fixed it. Thanks for letting me know.
Yeah, a couple pages seem to have fallen out.
…Ytf was that my image?
Wow! That is a point very well made.
Her leg looks dislocated in the bottom-left panel–so basically, comic-cover-quality poses, great job!
Haha brilliant. Sad to hear about the collaboration being over! I’m a big fan of both comics! I’ve also got a good feminist friend, who’s taught me plenty about this sort of thing over the years, into this comic. She loves it!
Talk about posing around. Though she could be prowling too, in a most exaggerated way possible.
Too bad she can’t use ‘Pose Lightning’ (panel 1) as an attack.
I’m not sure if you missed this or not, but the “lightning” actually is a part of the billboard shown on top of the building on the left in the final panel.
Looks like she’s moving at a rate of around one overly dramatic pose per two feet. At this rate she should have stripper-danced across the block by sundown. ;-P
I LOVE the change in perspective from penultimate to last panel. Really shows what a close frame and the right angle does for a comic book woman.
I think my hip sympathetically broke along with panel 4… ouch.
I see a super-villainous sign. Which simultaneously underscores Objectifyer’s mindset, and gives a clue as to a way to solve this. Clearly Gyno-Star’s condition cannot be cured by conventional means. Only Objecifyer can do that.
But, aside from the fact that he would not want to, his very power clearly draws upon the unconscious stereotypes of the wielder, to shape it’s results. So even if he could be forced into using the power on her again, all he would do is have a similar result.
But a bit of psychology can be used here though. Few people think of themselves as being evil, even if they are. If he can be drawn into justifying his actions, he will be thinking of himself in terms of holding the moral high-ground, from his point of view. A paladin righting the wrongs of the politically correct world gone mad!
That would be the right moment to convince him that he could increase his own power, even more, by turning his power on himself. For the good of humanity. If it is played correctly, and timed right, his power will turn him into a true champion of society!
Who of course would see the immorality of altering others against their will. And, even though he had previously been fooling himself into thinking he was a moral person, who was acting in the right, now he truly would be. So, when he used his power, from then on, it would no longer pervert people to his previously twisted perspective.
His first priory would clearly be to reverse all the wrongs he had previously done. Once he has done that, kill him quickly, before he gets carried away and starts turning everybody into sickly goody goodies like himself!
But he already turned his power on himself once — though granted, that was more focused on his COSTUME rather than his body. Hmmm. Still, I’m not convinced it would work; in his opinion, he’s already convinced he’s reached the ideal male state.
Perhaps a bit of an old-fashioned beating up will help take him down a peg or two? Gyno-Star may be suffering from over flesh exposure, and unnatural posing urges, but the archetype she has been transformed into can still kick arse with it.
Make the villain realise that he has not rendered her incapable, despite using his power, and he will be grasping for a way to get an edge. Then implement the plan I suggested.
Gyno-Star’s faculties do seem to have been too impaired to pull of the mental trick though, so it would have to be up to Sappho, to save the day.
Great idea! I believe it could work – if he could get convinced. But by whom? Gynostar might not be able to…
Also, Terri Wells has a good point – convincing him that a perfect hero is better than an ideal male would be the hardest part of it all.
DaveB did a great job, imo, of displaying correct joint (dis)placement in panel 4
Just finished archive binging this after being poited to it from Grrl Power. Got a few laughs and have now added it to my webcomics bookmarks.
Well thank you. I’m glad you liked it!
This reminds me of how Batman always sulks at the edge of a building roof. How on earth do all the villains not see him coming from a mile away?
Do you really mean “sulks” or “skulks”?
Is Batman ever not sulking, really?
All that Brooding!
Let’s face it; a skulk is really just a scary sulk.
It’s not like he’s skulking on the roof of a garden shed and besides people tend to no notice what’s above them.
Nevertheless, he is supposed to be really good at stealth, so you’d think he could do better. (It is standard sniper practice to stay away from edges and windows so as not to be seen, so you’d think he’d know that, seeing as he has to face off against that sort of thing.)
I was pretty sure that every building in Gotham had gargoyles or something on the roof, so he blends in very well.
Both, since he doesn’t exactly have the cheeriest personality.
The clip does rather speak for itself.
Love that movie. I rate it as one of the best science fiction films, comedy or not.
This turned out wonderfully. I just love it.
He got the colours and style spot on too.
Rowr!
